1st Time at a County Fair

John and I visited the LA county fair today. It is their grand opening day and entry tix is only $1 dollar per person. What a steal! Normal rate is like 17 dollars per adult. Apparently it is also his first time to the fair after staying here for years.

The drive to the fair was horrendous. The traffic condition was so so bad especially on I-10. It took us like 2 hours to get there. Had to rush to the ticket booth to make sure we get in before 5pm as the rate will increase after that. Luckily, we made it.
We were greeted with the sight of a huge carnival ground upon entry. Was not really interested in the rides so we quickly walked pass that part. Next up on our itinerary was the hone and garden part. The flowers and deco are so beautiful. Some Hawaiian theme thing. Makes me wanna get my own outdoor garden too.
As it is already dinner time, we went around searching for food only to find that we were blocked by the parade from gg over to the side where the food is. Watched the parade a little but it was so boring. We saw ppl running across the street where there is no barricade and we followed :p herd instinct ok. Manage to get a Kawabanga corn dog. Super huge isn't it?
After satisfying our hunger, we did more exploring. Checked out the shopping part and the traditional California Heritage displays and someone broke something there too. Shall not elaborate too much on it. Lol.
The best part of the fair is actually the farm which is how the county fair started off in the early years, according to my friend. I get to see in real life the whole sheep judging contest that I watched in movies. Haha. The way they dress up themselves and the sheep are really cute!
Went around to see all the farm animals too. Touching and feeding the animals is really fun too. The smell of the place is really bad but the whole experience is worth it. Saw a really weird looking cow too. with huge huge horns. Poor them, it must be really tiring on the neck to have such big horns.
The part with all the Christmas trees and lightings really make me wanna spend the holiday season here. Hmmmm. Should I come back in Dec? :p
Ended our visit to the county fair with a final walk around the arcade. Guess what I found? Rides that is exactly similiar to those in the boardwalk. With a different name of course. But they are so much cleaner and newer. So happy that I dun need to operate these stuffs anymore. Haha.
That was a really incredible visit. Looking forward to more fun stuff in LA!
