The Decorations At Home

Just got back from home. Perfect place to recharge and refresh my mind. Home Sweet Home. As usual, home is decorated with lots of christmas stuffs. Mom is always crazy bout decorations. In the past me & sis would help to decorate the place. But now, its just down to mom & dad. The decorations still looks very dashing though. Here's a pic of the tree at home.

The stable below is one of the art piece that I'm most proud of. Haha. Look closely and u'll realise that the whole thing is made of cardboard wrapped in aluminium foil. Sugar papers as straws and small little pebbles as the fence. Isn't it cute. Both the stable and the snowman (also self-made) are more than 10 yrs old. Now who says good things doesn't last.

Tips : How to make a snowman.

1) Get 2 balls. One large and one small. Those that you blow air to inflate.

2)Paste cotton all over them.

3) Stick the balls together. Small one on top (head) & big one below (body) Duh!

4) Cut out the shape of the eyes, lips and buttons. For the nose, please do not use carrots unless u want flies and ants to stick to your snowman.

5) Finally, a nice hat and u'll get Forsty!

The Homecoming

Been busy packing up for home. Because of my inefficiency, I actually had to miss out on some fun outing with friends including K-box, makan at Newton and boardgames session. Sigh. What to do, I came from a small town. Need to keep on unpackin' and packin' everytime I go home. But hey,I'm going home to my beloved family. Its worth the trouble.

I really do not know whether its a blessin' or a curse. Growing up in such a small town has always make me wanna see the world. Believing that there is something more out there. It makes me really adventurous. But as I make my journey out to the unkonwn, the more I realise that probably home is where I really wanna be. Small talks at coffee shop, dinner at home, festive seasons spent visiting relatives and weekends at church and supermarkets (Yes we do not have shopping centers back home. Just shophouses). It might be boring but it gives me a feeling that I still yet to find elsewhere.

On the 1st day of next year, I'll be heading to Calgary, Canada for my exchange. Will be the first time I get to see snow. Somehow I'm not too keen on going right now. It'll put my family in financial burden. But yet, it is all planned out and I'm too timid to make a change.

I'm pretty torn. A part of me says stop searchin' for home is where the heart is. Somehow I'm just too tired to run around looking for something that I dun even know. But another part of me is not satisfied, I want to find my paradise. But time after time I failed and this flame in me is slowly burning out. Will this time be different? Will this be the first time i choose to take the road less travelled by? Will take the time at home to think over this issue.

Will not be updating for a while as there is no internet connection back home.

The Amazing Food Mission

This is the kind of day which every man live for. Those days when you just eat eat and eat without having to worry about the calories. Thanks to Shiang Yun and Siok Kah's crazy ideas. The food was pretty yummy. We started our mission with a freakin' long bus journey to Joo Chiat but ended up in Geylang. Thanks to the bad sense of direction that the girls have.

After much trouble, we managed to reach our first stop, the 'Tau Kwa Pau' stall. It was just ok. Next, we have the famous 'Fei fei wantan noodle'. This was quite good. I love the taste of the wantan. Comparable to those at home. After that, we stumble upon two very good food. The fried dumpling at Joo Chiat Place and the almond jelly. Best food we had today. We bought it totally on impulse. He he. The mango jelly sucks though. Boo.

We were kinda bloated at this time. However, we had a road block; the durian. We couldn't travel by public transport to our next destination unless we finish up this stinky thing. Yucks. The Ming Hui and Siok Kah partnership succeeded in this road block. We proceed down town for the second part of our mission.

Had some great fruit juice at the food court on the groud level of Funan IT Mall. Its pretty cheap. $1.50 for most of the juices with no sugar added. I had a pretty cooling Starfruit-Pear. Go try it out for yourself. Next up was the Hokkaido ice-cream at Marina Square. I totally dig the colour combination of the flavors we've chosen. Green Tea & Strawberry.

After much exploring, we finally reached out pit stop; Soup Restaurant at Suntec City. Had a really expensive but nice meal. Total amount spent for the day = $ 21.95. Cheap? Well, you be the judge. But I must say that this is a great FAT Day!

The Embarrassing Moments

Had a really great time hanging out with friends that I met while going on W & T in Orlando. Where else could we go but Sentosa, the closest that we can get to all those great beaches in Florida. As usual everybody was late. Played beach volleyball. I'm finally convinced that I'm very 'good' at ball games.

But the highlight of the day was the most embarrassing moments of my life. Some of the gals decided to ride a bike. FYI, i haven't master the bike riding ability at all. I failed miserably the last time I tried to learn riding one. Yes, you hear me right. I cannot ride a bike at all. I do not know what came over me but I decided to tag along. Now the question.
Guess what I did in the process of learning to ride a bike.
a) Bang straight into a tree
b) Fall into bushes twice
c) Ram into a pole
d) Knock onto my friends bike

The answer is sadly............. all of the above. To make things worse, it happened in front of a lot of people. But still, I did not regret this decision as I managed to ride the bike! Hip hip hooray. Still not perfect but hey I'm finally riding it. Guess achievement always comes with a price. Sorry to Xiangting for giving her a shock by knockin' into her bike. And a million thanks to Kaili for the encouragement. Hee hee.

The Last Waltz

Today is the last ballroom dancing session that I have with Alice. Its amazing how time passes so quickly. It has been 12 weeks since I first started. I'm still a long way from mastering it. Back to the story, Waltz is actually more sensual and intimate when compared to Latin. Its ok not to know this. I didn't knew it either until I danced the Waltz. Must perfect this piece of art someday.

The pic on the left is an oversway. The other is the basic frame. Boy, its sure hard to maintain this frame throughout the dance.

Today was a really taxing day. Visa application, karang guni, dance and interview. No wonder I felt so tired when hanging out with Cyn n Ian just now. One is now officially sick another is high. Next time around there's gonna be less casualty, I hope. Ha ha. Gotta sleep soon. I realise that holidays are more tiring then schooldays. Well it doesn't matter as long as it fun!

The Forward Inc. Outing

Went out with my project group mates today right after exam. It is amazing how we managed to click after only one semester. We started off not even knowing how each others look like. Ha ha. It was a pretty fun and enjoyable session. Haven't been feeling this great in quite a while. Boo to Kris for missing out on this great outin'.

Went for a boardgame session at Boat Quay today as suggested by Fanni & Guowen. Mama Sandh and I decided to go ahead with the idea. The amount of boardgames available there sure overwhelmed me. But it was the answers to some questions in the 'Battle of the Sexes' game that made me laughed my head off. Chew on these:

1) What is 'catty' about the catfish?
It eats Cats.

2) What are the names of the two robot characters in Star Wars?
Erm............Yoda?

3) In golf, what do you call the person that carries the clubs?
A Clubber!

Well besides that, we learnt that mama Sandh has a pretty good ability of drawing with her eyes closed. Just to giv u a gist of the game. I'm postin' some very artistic drawings here. Try to guess for yourself what the answers are. I'll post them up soon.

Just to give you guys some hints. The top left pic is about a place. Top right an animal. The one below a person.

After the great session, we headed for supper at the famous frog porridge at Chinatown. Still feeling bloated from the meal. These photos are the best shots that we could get. Guess we're not so good at photographing ourselves. A very nice outin' I must say. Guys, must do this again someday!

The New Toy

Introducing to you my new toy: Techie Boy. Ok, I better stop this before u guys start calling me a freak for naming my comp. Its the Acer Aspire TravelMate 3012. A pretty expensive toy. Sigh another $1000 bugs gone just like that. This is inevitable as I needed a laptop for my exchange.

Sad to say goodbye to my old desktop which is now officially 2.5 years old. No fret, I'll be sending you home. Yup, my dekstop will finally be at his owner's real home! Handing over the possesion to my parents.

However, there is one thing that I would never change. My racing car mouse. Isn' t it adorable? I just luv it so much that I'm never gonna change it. (Unless it choose to die on me) My fav so far. Dun think any other mouse replace it.

Tomorrow is my final paper. A very difficult one. Hopefully i do not screw it up. After that........................ PARTY TIME!!!

The School Website

Had a conversation with my best old pal Tyan Yee. Its been a while since we talked. Reminds me of wonderful secondary school days. I got to know that my school finally have a website. A whole long 5 years after i graduated. They sure took long. Did a bit of surfin' on the web. The photos really brings back fond memories. This is what I can get from limited resources on the website. Will upload more photos when i get home.

This is my small, cramp but lovely secondary school. Still remember rushin' up that fleet of stairs everyday for assembly. I'm always just in time for it. Never more then 5 minutes early. Ha ha. I must apologise to my dad for making him rush everyday. Bad bad boy. Yes, I'm a lucky chap. My dad takes me to school everyday. Thanks dad! Luv u lots.

Here is where we assemble everyday. However, me and some friends will be at our hideaway. Assembly is so boring. See the red round dot? That's where we usually 'lepak'. If you're wonderin' why we never get caught, well we're prefects! Oops..... partners in crime.

I've came such a long way. Lookin' back i start to ponder whether this what i really want?

Are you where you wanted to be?
Did you get there easily?
Did I make you sacrifice?
Did you make a sharp left
When you should have turned right?
Where you want to be.......Darren Hayes

The Summary Clip

Here is a short clip I made of the past 2.5 years. Gonna miss this place a lot when I go on exchange. My wonderful room is now up for grabs! But don't fight over it okay.

Its funny how much can happen in such a short period of time. Thanks so much to all those who have made this two years so special. Keep in touch. Hugs!

The Beginning

My very first online journal ' Chasing dreams...................' Yes, I still believe in dreams. May this diary of mine remind us that dreams really do come true. Never stop believing.

Went downtown today to relax a little while studyin' with a funny classmate of mine. Well dats how her name sounds anyway. He he. Kudos to the Starbucks at California fitness for their good service. We got a free drink after they messed up my venti with small. Ha ha. I'm gonna visit Starbucks more often hoping to get more free stuffs. Ok just kiddin'. Not gonna be that cheapo.

Christmas mood is finally sippin' through my veins. Its finally lookin' more like the holidays. Lights, trees, decorations and crowds. Crowds are the one bad thing about this holiday season and watch out for strollers! They're good at runnin' over your precious feet when you least expect them. On a lighter note, we took a couple of snapshots on the trees. Green, white, red. You name it you got it. My camera phone is bad at night sceneries. Sigh. Final paper on Wednesday. Lookin' forward to that. Yeehar!
