Just A Filler

Gosh its coming to an end. My graduation trip. Feels like dying when I think of leaving to go back and face the harsh world.

Anyway, updates on my Vegas and San Francisco trip will come later. I couldn't seem to get enough of these 2 cities despite visiting it so many times.

Will be back in SG in Nov. Feel free to call me out and gimme a treat since most ppl are already earning money now. Pity me the jobless graduate struggling to pay loans. Lol

Meanwhile here is a vid of my favorite city on earth. SF SF I luv you!

Another Year Older

OMG, Another year older. my my my. This year I am in LA. It seemed to me that every birthday I'm at different place. Had a nice expensive Sushi dinner, watched WALL-E and shopped around. Pretty normal but it was really comforting. No partying and no speeding ticket or ponding like those years before. Best thing is the thing that I got for my birthday. Thank you :)
Canon Camera!
With a nice MAroooon casing!

Oh btw, thanks girls for the pre-birthday dinner. Have fun water rafting!

The Grad Trip

Wow. Only 2 more days before I leave SG to start my graduation trip. And the bookings are only completed today. Thanks to NYC for giving us so much problem with overbooked accommodations.

Here is the grand plan. Will be traveling to all those cities starting from NYC and ending it off in Santa Cruz to start my 4 months WnT program. I am so excited about this trip. Dotted line is by air. Solid lines will be by land. Hopefully we will be alright from the 14 hours continuous bus ride

Went out last night with Hend, Cindy, Ian & Grace. It'll be 6 months before I see some of them again. Thanks for the car ride. Hehe. Feels good not taking public transport. Must find someone to drive me. :p Gonna miss you guys. Take good care and happy searching for our new home while I'm away ok. We forgot to take photos. :-(

Thanks Lt for well wishes but no thanks to your statement of finding a replacement for me while I'm away for 6 months. Bleh.

Meanwhile, check this space for updates while I am away. Will try to blog as much as I could. Hehe.

The Song That Explains

As I watch another episode of American Idol (ok I know some of u hates it, but its not the show that I gonna talk about in this entry k? Hehe) I couldn't help but relate to the song I am.....I said. Speaks exactly of my feeling ever since I left home 6 years ago. Its wonder how beautifully the song is written. Glad to know that I am not alone in this feeling.

I think just by changing the lyrics from LA to Singapore and NYC to Sandakan. Here's part of the lyrics that really touched me.

Well, I'm New York City born and raised
But nowadays, I'm lost between two shores
LA's fine, but it ain't home
New York's home but it ain't mine no more

I am, I said
To no one there
And no one heard at all
Not even the chair
I am, I cried
I am, said I
And I am lost, and I can't even say why
Leavin' me lonely still

But I got an emptiness deep inside
And I've tried but it won't let me go
And I'm not a man who likes to swear
But I've never cared for the sound of being alone

The song is now officially on my favourite list from now on.

The Dilemma

Should I tell? Should I not?
Feelings hidden, Secrets untold.
Someday I will.
Yes, someday.

The Filler Post

Well, this post is just to fill up the Nov slot. Did not want to leave it empty. Hehe.

Life's been a routine lately. Was busy with school, part-time job, and final year project. Up till today I had 3 papers. All seemed good to me. One more on Monday. Keeping my fingers crossed for a shot at the best SAP ever in my Uni education.

Meanwhile, I finally finished my summary video on my participation in the International Summer School Program with UOS back in July. I know its been 4 months. I was busy. :p Enjoy this.

December will be hectic with FYP and work till Christmas week. That's when you'll see a lot of post from me again. Yup I'm goin' travellin' again. Yeeeharrrrrr. Where to? Well, check this space in a month's time.

Bye!

The Wish

Here's to the two of you whu heard this live with me back in Febuary. Miss those time, miss you guys.

I hope you never look back, but ya never forget,
All the ones who love you, in the place you left,
I hope you always forgive, and you never regret,
And you help somebody every chance you get,
Oh, you find God's grace, in every mistake,
And you always give more then you take.
Oh More then anything, Yeah, and more then anything,

My wish, for you,
is that this life becomes all that you want it,
To your dreams stay big,
and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more then you can hold,
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you,
and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

The Little Things That Meant A Lot

First up is the cute transportation card that they use here. I truly dig the style. Its in the size of the handphone deco that we use. This is their version of EZlink, Oyster, or Octopus cards.

Secondly it must be those birthday well wishes that i recieved from all of you guys. Be it the sms or emails, On time or belated.

Next, is this cute little pendant that I got for my birthday from Suz and YJ. It took them hours to design this cute necklace. Isn't it just adorable. Thank you so much.

Finally, is not so little drinking session that we had last night. Thanks to all who had come for the party. It was really fun. (Warning: Korean birthday drink is potent) Will upload the photos once I got them in.

The Lessons

Nothing much was done today except for rushin around. I was runin round London underground like an idiot tryin to catch my flight. I was lucky however, to be able to get the next one out 30 minutes thereafter. Lesson no 1: Be early for coach to airport else you will miss it. Worse still scampering around underground looking like a mad man is not cool at all

After reaching the airport, I realized that there is a long queue. They mentioned that the check in counter will be closed 40 minutes prior to departure, but at 30 minutes, the queue still looks like a caterpillar. People start to panic and cut queue. I waited in line like a good old boy and ended up to be the last one to check in. Lesson no2 : Cut queue when everybody else does. You dun wanna run like a mad cow to the gate!

At the rate that I am going I will surely miss my flight, Its only 10 minutes to the flight time. As I run towards the gate, I faced a roadblock. By what you’ll ask. Well none other than another train to take me to the gate. As I get off the train, it was already 5 minutes to flight time. I have a choice to run or to give up. Being me I did a dash all the way to the gate. Phew, manage to reach there on time. But wait, why is there a long queue again? Delay! Argh! Lesson no. 3: Keep your composure, stay calm, the flight will wait. ( I do not bear any liability if you miss your flight due to this statement. He he)

Just in case you are curious I took Easy Jet from London Stansted airport.

The Emptiness

I felt so empty after Suz left today. There were 5 of us in the begining of this trip. Abuchi, Santa, Anjuma and finally Haimoni left. I feel so alone now. Miss you guys so much. No mood to even go out for dinner. Guess in this short 4 period of time I really learned to enjoy all your company so much that I forgot how hard it is to deal with this emptiness once again.

So I started doing the only thing that would make me happy again. I made a video of us. FIrst up is Ottawa. Guess from now onwards everytime I made a video I will think of you guys. I will do my very best because I always remember how wonderful were the smile on your faces when you all watched the video.

New ambition: Travel journalist!

Here is the video of Ottawa

I know this is crazy.I maanaged to get 2 videos done in less than 4 hours! Woohooo! Now i truly understand why loneliness can help one succeed provided that it does not kills you. My efficiency increased by so much. This one is on Niagara Falls. When there were 5 of us. Lookin back all these memories really makes me laugh. Well, enjoy this second video too ya.

The Mind Luvs to Wonder

As I sit here thinkin' about what is gonna happen in the next week, I couldn't help feeling like things are so out of my control. Throughout this twenty something years of my life, I have learnt to accept that things will never always go our way. Still the feeling of disappointment or sadness is always too much to take.

It has been 5 months since i left SG, tryin to run away from something that bothered me. I must admit that the move to Calagry has given me much more than I have ever expected. Friends, lots of luv and security. The kinda life that I have always wanted. The past 4 months has been all joy and laughther. In a blink of an eye all of this is gonna change.

Tommorrow anjuma will leave,in another 5 days Suz will be gone too. I will then journey on to another continent of the world. Its not like I really wanna keep moving on like this. But somehow, things will never be the same again. Its the people that makes the different.

As I sit here typin this entry, i cannot help but feel frustrated that I do not have enough power to change something. They say lettin' go is good. But how many times can we keep on lettin go?

Nevertheless, I'm grateful for this wonderful journey that I had this far and hope that someday in the near future I'll find this kinda happiness once again.

Will we walk down this road once again?

The Small Little Things

When was the last time you had a pretty nice dinner with your loved ones? Watchin television together? Catching up on each other's daily life? Perhaps an outing on the weekend to unwind and relax? If your answer is no, better do that quick. You dun wanna look back someday regret not being able to do this small little things with them anymore.

We all are good at chasing our material dreams. Too good at it perhaps, that we fail to acknowledge the better things in life. If you think that bigger is better, think again. Does the thought of you scoring straight As and earning a million dollar brings more happiness to you or simply having a really good evening staring at the starry sky, chatting with your loved ones? I'll choose the later. I hope it is the same for you.

Let us not loose ourselves in this crazy world. Take a break sometimes to do the little things that will not earn you money or name. You will look back someday with a smile on your face for these small little insignificant things could be the most precious in your life.

I really do love my life here in Calgary, for the first time ever since I left home I felt really good and at ease. I chased not big dreams but live each days of my life simple and true. Well, thank God for sending me angels. Even if its only for 4 months, I'm thankful.

The Favourite Things

Well, I am now currently rottin' in my room thinkin' bout the trips far far ahead of me. And my plan for next few months is just like the weather here. A moment everything is bright and sunny. Just as i thought that I can even breath easy, it became all snowy, cold and gloomy.

Since there is not trip to blog about..............................lets blog about things then. Haha. You think I'm gonna sign off with a gloomy random entry? No way man! Haha. Here are a few things that I found here in Canada and really like a lot.

First up the provocative yet really cool matchbox. Dun you just agree with the tag line. Well, if you dun agree, check your spam mail. they've got lots of remedy for you. Wahaha!

Next up is the Beaver's Droppings. I still remember how hard I laughed when my roommate's friends actually told me that she had some pretty cool droppings. Yucks! In case you dun understand, droppings = shit. I have no idea why they call this chocolate droppings.

Talkin' about sweet things, I really like this cute little Bird candy called Peeps . Oh, note that I like the look of it no eatin' it. Its so damn sweet that i need to drink so much water after having it.

Yes you have seen him before, the Smiley face candle that I've used for one of my friend's Birthday. The big one looks more like a bomb actually.

The next item is authentically Canadian. Tim Horton's. Its actually Canada's answer to the US starbucks i guess. Really dig their timbits and donuts. Banana flavoured timbit is my favourite. Isn't it ironic when i dun eat banana at all. Haha. A further plus point is the price. Its much more reasonable and cheaper than the other coffee chain too.

The last and final thing. Haha. No, I'm not being narcissistic. Yes i do love myself a lot but this is about the camera. After my freakin olympus keep screwing up on me. I have decided to get a Sony camera. Maybe i should steal it from my friend. YJ you did not see this. Hehe.

The Overpublicise Day in February

Valentine's day its here again. Flowers flowers everywhere. Chocolate chocolate to make you fat. I got somethings else though. Haha. I got a present with brownies and cookies. Kudos to the effort. Its taste nice. If you're wonderin' whether I'm gettin' attached, the answer is a big no. Bleh. Its just a gift from a very good friend. We are like sis and bro la. Here's the pic of the gift.

Anyway I found out from my friend that in Korea, only gals give presents to guy on Valentine's Day. Cool right. Stop right there u guys. Don't even think u could move to Korea to get away with the gifts. The have another day called White Day in which the guys will buy the gals gifts. So much for thought of movin' ya.

Finally Happy Valentine's Day!

The Best Documentary Video

My biology lecturer showed us a great video last Friday. It summarises the activities of a cell in a very cool digital video. The music sounds good too. Its really a magnificient piece done by Biovisions of Harvard University. This is my favourite picture, it shows the Dyein transporting the cargo along the microtubule. Man, I pity the poor Dyein. Look how hard its workin.

This second one is actually a protein adding to the microfilament. Which will end up cutting the filament off as soon as it attaches.

Never mind if u cannot understand what I'm tokin' about. Just click on this link and enjoy the video. http://www.studiodaily.com/main/searchlist/6850.html This is phenomena.

Its was snowing again today. Wif super duper strong wind. Prayin hard that it will not bee too cold over the weekend. Lookin' forward to hikin' at the mountains.

The Diva's Concert

I'm goin' for another concert! Christina Aguilera on Mac 15 at Pentgrowth Saddledome, Calgary. I know this is nuts! But I should be crazy to miss out on such a huge diva performing. The plus point is I got a floor seat which will giv me a great full view of the stage. I hope row 17 is not too far away though. Hehe. Really lookin' forward to this. One concert a month keeps boredome away. I'm really likin' this exchange.

There is one problem. I heard that cameras are not allowed. Sigh. How to take pics? Someone tell me! Argh! Also prayin' hard for no big huge giants to sit in front of me.
